Description

The FS500 firewood splitter is a powerful, high-production wood splitter ideal for commercial wood splitting operations without the high cost investment of a firewood processor.

Powered by a Honda 630cc petrol engine, the FS500 makes splitting wood simple with the ability to produce firewood up to 3 cords per hour from logs up to 60,96cm long. With the standard bi-directional push block, 4.5 second cycle time, 42 tons of splitting force, and 2-stage hydraulic pump at 28 GPM, the FS500 can split wood at double the rate of one-directional firewood splitters.

Built to last, the FS500 features a heavy-duty, tube-in-tube steel frame which makes it three-times the weight of comparable wood splitters. The standard trailer makes the FS500 completely portable and road ready with a 2,200 lb torsion axle, stabilizing hitch, and LED lights for towing. The ergonomically designed deck level is 30,5cm higher than comparable splitters to provide a comfortable working height for the operator and the convenient operator panel allows simple, intuitive left/right controls for the firewood splitter and up/down controls for the log lift. The log lift is conveniently positioned on the operator’s side for fast and simple loading of logs by a single operator.

To prepare for splitting, logs are loaded manually or with the log lift. Once a log is loaded, the bi-directional push block is engaged by pushing the hydraulic lever to the right or left to push the log through one of two standard 3-way wedges (4-way, 5-way, and 5-way bundle wedges optional). With the first pass, the lower portion of the log is split into rectangular firewood for easy stacking, while the upper portion of the log is moved on the opposite side of the push block to finish splitting. Split material is automatically moved and sorted through one of two slotted extra-wide wing trays on either side of the operator.

Built in the USA, the FS500 firewood splitter ships on a single pallet and can be assembled in minutes with only seven bolts to secure before operation. With a 1-year warranty, the FS500 is backed by the same legendary service, quality and safety features shared by the rest of the family of Wood-Mizer wood processing equipment.
